Amber Lynnette Lassiter has a Masters of Arts and Teaching in Education, and a Masters of Arts in Reading. She certified as an Elementary Teacher and Reading Specialist. Amber has been recognized for her leadership skills and helping to transform underperforming schools while increasing the graduation and student retention rates of college students.

She has served as a classroom teacher and reading specialist for over thirteen years. She has also worked as an adjunct instructor teaching Developmental Reading courses, English as a Second Language courses, served as the Director of the Center for Academic Success at Berkeley College, and facilitated workshop at several conferences addressing topics such as Strategies to Simplify the Complexities of Biology, and Conquering Test Taking Anxiety.

She is a member of the National Teacher Sorority Phi Delta Kappa Incorporated and is obtaining an Educational Specialist degree from Seton Hall University.
